Page Description

Use the Alerts & Comments page to add, edit, or delete alerts or comments that appear when you open the selected host, location, practice, system default, user, or order choice record.

Adding, Editing, and Deleting Alerts & Comments
  1. Copia lists any existing alerts or comments when you open this page.
  2. For each alert or comment, Copia lists the Alert status, Note contents, Entered By, Entered Date, Modified By, and Modified Date. Note that Copia does not display the Entered By and Entered Date information for new alerts and comments or the Modified By and Modified Date information for edited alerts and comments until you fully save the changes (see below).
  3. Click the Add button to open the Alerts & Comments pop-up, where you may add a new alert or comment. Enter the desired text, and then click Save to record the alert or comment and return to the main Alerts & Comments page. This text area has Text Shortcuts functionality. For more information on using Text Shortcuts, navigate to the Using Text Shortcuts topic.
  4. Copia updates the display to include your new alert or comment.
  5. By default, Copia selects the Alert status checkbox for new entries. When enabled, Copia displays this alert text when users open the corresponding page. Clear this checkbox to have Copia consider the entry a comment, and to have it display the text only when users access the Alerts & Comments page for the selected host, location, practice, system default, user, result delivery rule, or order choice record.
  6. For location alerts and comments, select the Display at Order checkbox to have Copia display the alert on the Order Patient Samples page when the selected location is the ordering location.
  7. Click the Note text to modify the contents of the alert or comment in the Alerts & Comments pop-up. Modify the text as desired, and then click Save to record the alert or comment and return to the main Alerts & Comments page.
  8. Select the Display at Collection for this as the Ordering Location option to mark the respective alert as one that should be shown on the Collect Samples and/or Pending Collection pages when this location is the ordering location and a checkbox is checked to mark the sample as collected.
  9. If there are more than one alerts or comments, click the up and down arrows in the Sort By column to place the alerts and comments in the order Copia should use to display them.
  10. Click the X button in the Delete column to remove the alert or comment from the list.
  11. Click the OK button to record your additions or changes, and return to the previous page. Note that Copia has not yet fully saved your new, edited, and deleted entries.
  12. Once you return to the previous page, click the Save button to fully save the comment.
