Establishing Change Log Settings

  1. Select one or more options to enable the tracking you wish to use for Log Changes: Client Services Clients, Client Services Items, Client Services Routes, Client Services Rule, Client Services Setup, Client Services Supplies, Clinical Info, Clinical Study, Custom Filter, Custom Menu, Data Browser, Host, Insurance Company, Insurance Plan, Interface Activity, Label Printing Rule, Layout Template, Location, Order, Order Choice, Order Choice Type, Order Entry Rule, Patient, Practice, Profile, Result Evaluation Rule, Result Release Rule, Roles, Scheduled Events, Server, Specimen Source, Split Order Rule, System Default, and/or User.
  2. The Change Log records should be held for ___ days option, which will accept a number between one and 365, displays the number of days Copia should wait to purge change log records. By default this number is set to 30, which is approximately one month. For reference purposes, Copia displays the dates of when the last purge occurred (Last Purge).

In the Run at fields, select a day of the week checkbox (S, M, T, W, T, F, and/or S) and enter a time in HH:MM AM/PM to set when the purge occurs.

After the designated interval has passed, Copia purges all change log records older than the last time the purge occurred based on your settings for the Run at field. If you change the number of days and the selected day would be in the past, or if purge was scheduled to run and the system was down, then the next time the system is running at the designated run time, Copia will purge the files and record the date as the last purge date.

Select the Export change log records on purge option to have Copia save purged records to a file that you may view from the Export View administration page. See the Admin: Export View topic.

Select the Purge Change Log export files after ___ days checkbox to specify the number of days that Change Log export files should be for. The default number of days is 365.

  3. Click the Enable Change Log on all activities button to enable Change Log on all activities. An alert will appear asking if you are sure you would like to complete this action. Click the Disable Change Log on all activities button to disable Change Log on all activities. An alert will appear asking if you are sure you would like to complete this action.
  4. Once you have saved your settings (see below), Copia begins tracking changes to the selected categories. You may view the change log records in the Change Log administration page. See the Admin: Change Log topic.
  5. Click the Cancel button to remove all unsaved changes.
  6. If your modifications are complete, click OK to record all changes. Otherwise, complete the remaining sections and then click OK.
  7. You must click Save on the System Defaults administration page in order for the changes to take effect.
