Dispose Metacontainer Pop-up

Page Description

The Disposal pageĀ is a mechanism to confirm and mark metacontainers and samples as disposed of. This page can be accessed from several different places. The contents of the page is a tree view with the root of each tree being one of the selected containers upon which the disposal action was initiated. The descendants in the storage hierarchy of each root container are also shown. This allows the user to pick if the root and all of its contents should be disposed of or just a subset. By default, all disposable containers will be selected for disposal.

Dispose of Metacontainer(s) and Contents

  1. The roots of each tree are containers that were selected for disposal when the dispose action was initiated. There are multiple roots if multiple containers are selected for disposal from the initiating page. All descendants of a root are visible and are able to be selected or cleared for disposal.
  2. Non-disposable metacontainers have gray text. This indicates that they cannot be selected for disposal.
  3. Disposable metacontainers and trackable instances of samples have normal black text. This indicates that they can be selected for disposal. Disposable containers that are not marked for disposal have normal text while disposable containers that are marked for disposal have bold text.
  4. Each node in the tree view can be expanded and collapsed. By default, each node is expanded.
  5. Next to each metacontainer is the selection box for disposal confirmation:
    • Unselected: the container and none of its descendants will not be disposed of.
    • Selected: the container and all of its descendants will be disposed of.
    • Mixed Selection: the container will not be disposed of, but some of its descendants will be disposed of.
  6. Click Dispose Selected to dispose of the selected metacontainers.
  7. Click Cancel to close the pop-up without disposing of any metacontainers.
