Page Description

Use the Insurance Search page to select the desired insurance company or plan from the list of companies or plans that matched your search, or search for a company or plan. Once you select a company, you must select an insurance plan for the company or create a new plan.

Note that if you access the search page from the Insurance administration page, Copia displays "Inactive" next to inactive insurance companies and plans; whereas, if you access the search page from the Insurance page from the main Lab Tasks menu, Copia does not display in the list any insurance companies or plans that have been inactivated in the Insurance administration page.

Accessing this Page

• Enter one or more characters in the Insurance Company field and click the Search button on the Insurance lab tasks page or the Insurance or Change Log administration pages.
• Enter one or more characters in the Insurance Plan field and click the Search button on the Insurance lab tasks page or the Insurance or Change Log administration pages.
• Click the Assign Plan to a different Company button located at the bottom of the Insurance plan details administration page.
• Enter one or more characters in the search field for either insurance companies or insurance plans, and then click the Search button on the Edit Order Entry Rule administration pages.

Selecting an Insurance Company Search Result

1. If there was at least one match to your insurance company search, then Copia displays the matching insurance companies when the page appears. Note that if you access the search page from the Insurance administration page, Copia displays "Inactive" next to inactive insurance companies and plans; whereas, if you access the search page from the Insurance page from the main Lab Tasks menu, Copia does not display in the list any insurance companies or plans that have been inactivated in the Insurance administration page.
2. The page contains a list of up to ten insurance companies and plans and their details. The list of insurance companies that a plan can be reassigned to only contains companies that belong to the same practice the plan does. If the list is longer than one page, use the Page links, located below the list of companies and plans, to navigate through the list. If there are more page links than can fit on the page at once, Copia displays the Page field. Enter a number in this field and press the Enter key on the keyboard to immediately open the selected page.
3. If no search results are found or if the desired company is not found, search again, or click the New Company and Plan button to create a new company using the Insurance Plan page. See the Insurance Plan topic.
4. Click the name of a company to select that insurance company for the patient. Note that Copia adds the name of the selected insurance company in bold-italics at the top of the Insurance Companies and Plans section.
5. Once you select a company, you must select an insurance plan for the company. If one or more plans exist for the company, Copia lists them after you select the company.
6. Click the name of a plan to select the plan for the patient. If you do not see the desired plan, use the Insurance Plan field to search for it, or click the New Plan for Selected Company button to create a new plan using the Insurance Plan page. 7. Once you select a plan or add a new plan, Copia opens the Insurance Plan page, where you may view or edit the insurance company and plan information before selecting the plan. See the Insurance Plan topic.
8. Click Cancel to return to the Insurance page without selecting an insurance company or plan.

Selecting an Insurance Plan Search Result

1. If there was at least one match to your insurance plan search or if you searched for and selected an insurance company (see "Selecting an Insurance Company Search Result" above), then Copia displays the matching insurance plans and their associated companies when the page appears. Each plan is listed with the company name, plan name, company phone, contact name, contact phone, and company address.
2. Click the name of a plan to view or edit the insurance company and plan information before selecting the plan in the Insurance Plan page. See the Insurance Plan topic.
3. If no search results are found or if the desired plan is not found, search again, or click the New Plan for Selected Company button to create a new plan using the Insurance Plan page. See the Insurance Plan topic.
4. Click Cancel to return to the Insurance page without selecting an insurance company or plan.
