Inbound Message Details

Page Description

Use this page to view or modify inbound HL7 or attachment messages. Note that if you make changes, you are permanently modifying the original message. Copia does not maintain backup copies of messages. For messages that require the use of Mapper, Copia displays a Translated Message section. Click the show link to view the message or rerun the Mapper script, if necessary.

Modifying Inbound Messages

  1. When the Inbound Message Details page appears, Copia displays message details.
  2. Place the cursor in the message to display in the Cursor Position field the part of the message the cursor is in (e.g., IN2-5.1 or PV1-7.2). There are a few special cases: if the cursor is at the beginning of the message, the position will be “Start of Message”; if the cursor is at the end of the message, the position will be “End of Message”; if the cursor is in the first field of the MSH segment, the position will display “Message Delimiters”; if the cursor is at the end of a segment or the beginning of the next segment, the position will display “End of <segment type> Start of <segment type>” (e.g., End of GT1 Start of IN1).
  3. To edit HL7 messages, highlight or delete text already displayed, then modify as needed. Note that you are permanently modifying the original message. Copia does not maintain backup copies of messages.
  4. View the message status in the Errors field.
  5. For messages that require the use of Mapper, Copia displays a Translated Message section. Click the show link to view the message or rerun the Mapper script, if necessary. See "Viewing Translated Messages" below.
  6. Click Cancel to return to the Inbound Queue page without saving any changes. See the Admin: Inbound Queue topic.
  7. Click Save to record changes and return to the Inbound Queue page.
