  2. To view active tube/container types only, select the Show active only checkbox at the top of the Tube/Container Types list page. You set the active/inactive status in the Tube/Container Type Details section of the Tube/Container Types details page. See "Adding Tube/Container Types" below.
  3. If you cannot find the desired tube/container type, enter one or more characters of the tube/container type name in the search field, and then click the Search button to narrow the list to those that match your entry. Click the List option to return to the full list of tube/container types.

Adding Tube/Container Types

  1. Use the Tube/Container Types details page to create tube/container types for use in the Order Choices page. See the Admin: Order Choices topic.
  2. Enter the full name of the tube/container type in the Tube/Container Type field. This field is required.
  3. Select the Active checkbox to enable users to select the tube/container type while creating order choices. Clear this checkbox to restrict users from selecting the tube/container type. If the tube/container type is inactive, Copia clears it from the Tube/Container Types list page when you select the Show active only checkbox. See "Viewing the Tube/Container Type List" above.
  4. Enter values in the Maximum Yield and Units fields to set the volume associated with the tube/container type. Copia uses this value in conjunction with the Minimum Required Yield sample collection value for order choices to estimate the container count for each sample on an order. Enter a value in the UCUM Units field to set the number of UCUM units associated with the tube/container type.
  5. Select the Client Services Only checkbox to limit the usage of the selected tube/container type to the Client Services module. When selected, this tube/container type will not appear anywhere in Copia except the Client Services module. Select the Do not display in Client Services checkbox to have Copia not display the tube/container type in the Client Services module.
  6. Select the Do not create sample tracking items for this tube/container type checkbox to grant the ability to opt out of automatic metacontainer creation for specified tube/container types. When the setting is selected, then metacontainer items will not be automatically created for the tube/container when an order choice is created with samples of that tube/container type.
  7. Enter a value in the Count Type field to determine the count type for the tube/container. Note that the Count Type field represents the smallest unit for tube/container. The text entered in the field should represent what a single instance of the tube/container would be called, i.e., slides.
  8. Enter text in the Additive search field to add an additive to the tube/container type. This is a search-as-you-type field. Click the magnifying glass icon to manually search for an additive. Click the X button to remove the additive.
  9. Click the Associated Order Choices button to display the Associated Order Choices pop-up to show the order choices with collection information that use the tube/container type. Select the Show active only checkbox to only view active tube/containter types in the pop-up. Click the Close button to close the pop-up followed by returning to the Tube/Container Types details page.
  10. Click the Label Printing button to configure default printing preferences and label formats for the current tube/container type using the Label Printing page. See the Admin: Label Printing topic. You may also define master or tube label formats for the system default setting or for individual hosts (see the Admin: System Defaults or Admin: Hosts topics). Copia uses the tube/container type's label format settings, if they are available, for order choices that require this type of tube/container. If tube/container type label formats do not exist or are not active, Copia uses host label format settings for labels produced for samples that have been routed to that host. If host label formats do not exist or are not active, Copia uses the system default label format set in the System Defaults administration page.
  11. Click < Back to List to return to the Tube/Container Types list page without saving any changes.
  12. Click the Save button to record changes and return to the Tube/Container Types list page.
