Viewing the Test List
  1. The Tests page contains a list of up to ten tests for the selected lab. If the list is longer than one page, use the Page links, located below the list of tests, to navigate through the list.
  2. Each test is listed with the test name and host code for the test.
  3. To view the tests for a different lab, select the lab from the Lab drop-down list. If you cannot find the desired lab name, create a new one using the Hosts page. See the Admin: Hosts topic.
  4. If you cannot find the desired test, enter one or more characters of the test name or host code in the search field, and then click the Search button to narrow the list to those that match your entry. Click the List option to return to the full list of tests.
  5. If you cannot find the desired test, click the Add button to add a test. See "Adding or Editing Test Details" below.

Adding or Editing Test Details

Note: If a test is assigned to any results, you may only edit the test name and description. If the LOINC is blank, then you may also add the LOINC. If you are adding a new test or if the test is not assigned to any result, then all of the fields are editable.

  1. Open the Test details page. See "Viewing the Test List" above.
  2. Enter the test name in the Name field. Copia displays this value on patient lab reports. This field is required. When Copia automatically creates the test from results, it sets the name to the order choice's abbreviation; however, you may edit this field, if desired, to modify what appears on patient lab reports.
  3. Enter the abbreviation for the test in the Abbreviation field.
  4. Enter a description of the test in the Description field.
  5. Enter the Logical Observation Identifiers Names and Codes identifier in the LOINC field, if needed.
  6. Enter the host code for the test in the Host Code field.
  7. To edit the test fields, highlight or delete text already displayed in the fields, then modify as desired.
  8. Select a test type from the Accession Pathology page history report test type drop-down list to select a history report test type for the Accession Pathology page. Select either "None," "Final Diagnosis," or "Additional Diagnosis" from the list.
  9. Select the Suppress test from appearing on "Previous Tests Reported for" list checkbox to have Copia suppress the test from appearing on the "Previous Tests Reported for" list.
  10. Select the Insert title before this test on reports checkbox to display a title above tests on Standard, Alternate, and Custom result reports. When you select this option, Copia allows you to customize the title with the following fields:
  11. Select the Show active hosts only checkbox to have the table only display the names of active host codes. Note that these host codes will override the above host code in the Host Code field when this test is sent to the listed host.
  12. Enter the host code in the table field located in the Host Code column. Click HL7 2.5.1 to display the HL7 2.5.1 Codes pop-up.
  13. Click Save to save the changes made on the pop-up, or click Cancel to close the pop-up without saving any changes.
  14. Click Save to record changes and return to the Test list page, or click < Back to List to return to the Test list page without saving any changes.
