Result Recipients

Page Description

Use the Result Recipients page to view or modify the list of people who will receive copies of the results for the current order. This includes the ordering provider, ordering location, host lab, Copia users, and/or external recipients. For orders that you have already saved, you may also redeliver the reports to one or more selected recipients. This allows you to retransmit results to host systems or to change your report format and then resend results.

Viewing the Result Recipients List
  1. This page lists all of the people, locations, or hosts that are currently selected to receive copies of the order results. Each is listed by Recipient name, Recipient Role (relationship to the order, such as Ordering Provider, Ordering Location, Lab, Copia User, or External Delivery, Contact Fax, and Contact Email. Note that there is no fax or email information for host recipients, since Copia always sends results via HL7 to hosts.
  2. By default, both the Ordering Provider and the patient's Primary Care Provider (PCP) are included as result recipients. In cases where the PCP places the order, that provider is only listed once.

  3. If you have the necessary security rights, you may click the recipient's name and edit the contact fax number and contact email address on the Add/Edit Recipient page. See "Editing Recipients on the List" below.
  4. To modify this list, you may add, edit, or delete recipients (see "Adding Recipients to the List," "Editing Recipients on the List," or "Deleting Recipients from the List" below).
  5. If you add an External Delivery recipient, then the name of the recipient becomes a link. Click the name of the recipient to open the Add/Edit Recipients page to view or modify the recipient's details. See "Editing Recipients on the List" below. Note that you will only be able to have external recipients if an Orchard Copia Administrator has set up result delivery methods in the System Defaults administration page.
  6. If you have the necessary security right, then, once you have saved an order, the Redeliver column and button are active, allowing you to redeliver the report. See "Redelivering Reports" below. If you do not have the necessary security right, then this column and button are not visible.
  7. Click Cancel to return to the Order Patient Samples page without saving your changes.
  8. Click Save to finish saving any changes you have made and return to the Order Patient Samples page. Remember that changes you make when adding, editing, or deleting recipients are not saved until you click the Save button on the Result Recipients page.

Adding Recipients to the List
  1. If you do not see the desired recipient in the Result Recipients list, click the Add button to access the Add/Edit Recipients page where you may add a new recipient for the order. See the Add/Edit Recipients topic.
  2. Once you have added the recipient, click Save in the Result Recipients page to finish saving your changes. Remember that changes you make when adding, editing, or deleting recipients are not saved until you click the Save button on the Result Recipients page.
  3. If you are adding recipients to an order that has already been saved, Copia displays an asterisk in front of the new entries until you finish saving them to the order by clicking the Save button on the Order Patient Samples page.

Editing Recipients on the List
  1. You cannot edit the details for a Copia user, ordering location, lab, or ordering provider; however, you may edit the details for an External Delivery recipient.
  2. If you wish to edit the information for a recipient in the Result Recipients list, click the name of the recipient to open the Add/Edit Recipients page where you may modify the recipient's details. See the Add/Edit Recipients topic.
  3. Once you have edited the recipient, click Save in the Result Recipients page to finish saving your changes. Remember that changes you make when adding, editing, or deleting recipients are not saved until you click the Save button on the Result Recipients page.

Deleting Recipients from the List
  1. If you wish to delete the recipient from the Result Recipients list, click the X button that corresponds to the recipient you wish to delete.
  2. Once you have deleted the recipient from the list, click Save in the Result Recipients page to finish saving your changes. Remember that changes you make when adding, editing, or deleting recipients are not saved until you click the Save button on the Result Recipients page.

Redelivering Reports
  1. If you have the necessary security right, then, once you have saved an order, the Redeliver column and button are active, allowing you to redeliver the report. If you do not have the necessary security right, then this column and button are not visible.
  2. Select the checkbox in the Redeliver column for each recipient who should receive the redelivered report. Click the Redeliver column label to select or deselect all of the recipients on the current page.
  3. After you select the recipients, click the Redeliver button to send the new report to all selected recipients. Note that you must save any changes to the order before attempting to redeliver the report.
  4. Once you have redelivered the report to the selected recipients, click Cancel to return to the Order Patient Samples page.
