Use this page to view or modify the HL7 ADT messages Copia could not parse because the host is not assigned to a practice or it does not recognize the ordering location in the ADT message. For messages where the host is not associated with a practice, you must change the host settings so Copia can process the message. Note that you are permanently modifying the original message. Copia does not maintain backup copies of messages.

1. Copia displays the HL7 ADT message when the Edit ADT Message page appears.
• Ordering Location: The ordering location's address.
• Error: The errors Copia encountered while trying to parse the message.
2. Place the cursor in the message to display in the Cursor Position field the part of the message the cursor is in (e.g., IN2-5.1 or PV1-7.2). There are a few special cases: if the cursor is at the beginning of the message, the position will be “Start of Message”; if the cursor is at the end of the message, the position will be “End of Message”; if the cursor is in the first field of the MSH segment, the position will display “Message Delimiters”; if the cursor is at the end of a segment or the beginning of the next segment, the position will display “End of <segment type> Start of <segment type>” (e.g., End of GT1 Start of IN1).
3. To view more message details, return to the Fix ADT page. See the Admin: Fix ADT topic.
4. To edit the HL7 message structure, highlight or delete text already displayed, then modify as needed. Note that you are permanently modifying the original message. Copia does not maintain backup copies of messages.
5. Click Cancel to return to the Fix ADT page without saving any changes.
6. Click Save to record changes and return to the Fix ADT page, where you may rerun the message.
