Use the Edit Result Release Rule page to define the specific settings for conditions and actions associated with result release rules.

For each of the conditions, you may select how Copia applies the condition (e.g., selected locations, all locations except, all conditions must be met, at least one condition must be met, etc.). If the conditions are met, Copia will automatically release the results to the report recipients and/or patients.

• Click the Add or Edit button for the desired condition or action on the Result Release Rule administration page.

Adding or Editing Result Release Rule Conditions

Below is a description of each available condition and the steps to follow to add or edit the condition's settings.

• Current Order Choices: The current order choice(s) that must be included or absent on the order to allow the rule to fire.
1. Select either the Selected Order Choices or the All Order Choices Except... option to establish whether the condition will apply to the current order choices you add, or if it will apply to all of the order choices in the system except for those you add.
2. Enter one or more characters in the search field, and then click the Search button to select the current order choice from the Order Choice Search page. See the Order Choice Search topic.
3. Repeat these steps to add all of the desired current order choices to the condition.
4. Copia lists the current order choices you add in the Current Order Choices section. Click the X button next to a current order choice if you wish to remove it from the list.
5. Once you have completed your changes, click the Save button to return to the Result Release Rule administration page to continue creating or editing the result release rule. Remember that you must click Save on the Result Release Rule administration page in order to finalize the changes you make on this page.
• Days of the Week: The day(s) of the week that the order choice must be added to the order to allow the rule to fire.
1. Select the Selected Days option to establish the days of the week and specific times for the order.
2. Select an option from the drop-down list underneath Selected Days to set the time zone for the order, e.g., (GMT-05:00) Eastern Standard Time.
3. Select the Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and/or Saturday checkboxes as appropriate to set the days when this rule should apply.
4. After you select one or more of the days of the week, select the time range during which the rule should apply for each selected day:
   • All Day: Select this option to apply the rules for the entire day.
   • Time Frame: Select this option and enter a time range to limit the rule to apply only during the selected hours.
5. Once you have completed your selections, click the Save button to return to the Result Release Rule administration page to continue creating or editing the result release rule. Remember that you must click Save on the Result Release Rule administration page in order to finalize the changes you make on this page.
• Order User Defined Field Response: Condition allows the user to select and specify a user-defined field response for an order.
1. Select either the Any of the Following User Defined Question Response(s) or the All of the Following User Defined Question Response(s) radio button to either specify that Copia should use any of the following responses or all of the following responses.
2. Select the checkbox of the response you wish to include, followed by selecting an option from the drop-down list to the right of the checkbox.
3. Once you have completed your changes, click the Save button to return to the Result Release Rule administration page to continue creating or editing the result release rule. Remember that you must click Save on the Result Release Rules administration page in order to finalize the changes you make on this page.
• Ordering Locations: The ordering location(s) that must be included or absent on the order to allow the rule to fire.
1. Select either the Selected Ordering Locations or the All Ordering Locations Except... option to establish whether the condition will apply to the ordering locations you add, or if it will apply to all of the ordering locations in the system except for those you add.
2. Enter one or more characters in the search field, and then click the Search button to select the ordering location from the Location Search page. See the Location Search topic.
3. Repeat these steps to add all of the desired ordering locations to the condition.
4. Copia lists the ordering locations you add in the Ordering Locations section. Click the X button next to an ordering location if you wish to remove it from the list.
5. Once you have completed your changes, click the Save button to return to the Result Release Rule administration page to continue creating or editing the result release rule. Remember that you must click Save on the Result Release Rule administration page in order to finalize the changes you make on this page.
• Practices: The practice(s) that must accompany the order choice to allow the rule to fire.
1. Select either the Selected Practices or the All Practices Except... option to establish whether the condition will apply to the practice(s) you add, or if it will apply to all of the practices in the system except for those you add.
2. Enter one or more characters in the search field, and then click the Search button to select the practice(s) from the Practice page. See the Practice Search topic.
3. Repeat these steps to add all of the desired practice(s) to the condition.
4. Copia lists the practice(s) you add in the Practices section. Click the X button next to a practice if you wish to remove it from the list.
5. Once you have completed your changes, click the Save button to return to the Result Release Rule administration page to continue creating or editing the result release rule. Remember that you must click Save on the Result Release Rule administration page in order to finalize the changes you make on this page.
• Result Comment Conditions (for any test): The result comment conditions located on the order choice to allow the rule to fire.
1. Select either the All conditions must be met or the At least one condition must be met option to establish whether the condition will apply to the result comment conditions you add, or if it will apply to all of the result comment conditions in the system except for those you add.
2. Click the Add Result Comment Condition button in the Result Release Rule Condition section from the Result Comment Conditions page.
3. Repeat these steps to add all of the desired result comment conditions to the condition.
4. Copia lists the result comment conditions you add in the Result Comment Conditions (for any test) section, along with the Result Comment Value. Click the drop-down list to select the category you need. Click the X button next to a result comment condition if you wish to remove it from the list.
   • Result Comment Value: Select an option from the operator drop-down list to select how to compare the values (Begins With, Begins With [cs], Contains, Contains [cs], Does Not Contain, Does Not Contain [cs], Is Equal To, Is Equal To [cs], Is Not Equal To, Is Not Equal To [cs], Is Greater Than, Is Less Than, Is Empty, and Is Not Empty).
   • Enter the value against which Copia is comparing the test name's value. When applying the condition, Copia will only consider those entries that qualify. For example, if you select "Contains" and enter “alt,” Copia will only continue considering results for tests with names that contain "alt."
5. Once you have completed your changes, click the Save button to return to the Result Release Rule administration page to continue creating or editing the result release rule. Remember that you must click Save on the Result Release Rule administration page in order to finalize the changes you make on this page.
• Specimen Sources: Whether or not the rule will apply if the order contains specimen part information on the order choice to allow the rule to fire.
1. Select either the Selected Specimen Sources or the All Specimen Sources Except... option to establish whether the condition will apply to the specimen sources you add, or if it will apply to all of the specimen sources in the system except for those you add.
2. Enter one or more characters in the search field, and then click the Search button to select the specimen sources from the Specimen Sources page. See the Specimen Sources Search topic.
3. Repeat these steps to add all of the desired specimen sources to the condition.
4. Copia lists the specimen sources you add in the Specimen Sources section. Click the X button next to a specimen source if you wish to remove it from the list.
5. Once you have completed your changes, click the Save button to return to the Result Release Rule administration page to continue creating or editing the result release rule. Remember that you must click Save on the Result Release Rule administration page in order to finalize the changes you make on this page.
• Test Conditions: The test condition(s) for the order choice to allow the rule to fire.
1. Select either the All conditions must be met or the At least one condition must be met option to establish whether the condition will apply to the test condition(s) you add, or if it will apply to all of the test condition(s) in the system except for those you add.
2. Click the Add Test Condition button in the Result Release Rule Condition section from the Test Conditions page. See the Test Search topic.
3. Repeat these steps to add all of the desired test condition(s) to the condition.
4. Copia lists the test condition(s) you add in the Test Conditions section. There will be drop-down menus for Test Name, Result Value, Abnormal Flags Value, and Result Comment Value. Click the X button next to a test condition if you wish to remove it from the list.
   • Test Name: Select an option from the operator drop-down list to select how to compare the values (Begins With, Begins With [cs], Contains, Contains [cs], Is Equal To, and Is Equal To [cs]).
   • Result Value: Select an option from the operator drop-down list to select how to compare the values (Begins With, Begins With [cs], Contains, Contains [cs], Does Not Contain, Does Not Contain [cs], Is Equal To, Is Equal To [cs], Is Not Equal To, Is Not Equal To [cs], Is Greater Than, Is Less Than, Is Empty, Is Not Empty, and Is Not Used).
   • Abnormal Flags Value: Select an option from the operator drop-down list to select how to compare the values (Begins With, Begins With [cs], Contains, Contains [cs], Is Equal To, Is Equal To [cs], and Is Not Used).
   • Result Comment Value: Select an option from the operator drop-down list to select how to compare the values (Begins With, Begins With [cs], Contains, Contains [cs], Does Not Contain, Does Not Contain [cs], Is Equal To, Is Equal To [cs], Is Not Equal To, Is Not Equal To [cs], Is Greater Than, Is Less Than, Is Empty, Is Not Empty, and Is Not Used).
   • Enter the value against which Copia is comparing the test name's value. When applying the condition, Copia will only consider those entries that qualify. For example, if you select "Contains" and enter “alt,” Copia will only continue considering results for tests with names that contain "alt."
5. Once you have completed your changes, click the Save button to return to the Result Release Rule administration page to continue creating or editing the result release rule. Remember that you must click Save on the Result Release Rule administration page in order to finalize the changes you make on this page.
• Testing Hosts: The host(s) designated to perform testing that must be included or absent on the order to allow the rule to fire.
1. Select either the Selected Testing Hosts or the All Testing Hosts Except... option to establish whether the condition will apply to the testing hosts you add, or if it will apply to all of the testing hosts in the system except for those you add.
2. Enter one or more characters in the search field, and then click the Search button to select the testing host from the Host Selection page. See the Host Selection topic.
3. Repeat these steps to add all of the desired testing hosts to the condition.
4. Copia lists the testing hosts you add in the Testing Hosts section. Click the X button next to a testing host if you wish to remove it from the list.
5. Once you have completed your changes, click the Save button to return to the Result Release Rule administration page to continue creating or editing the result release rule. Remember that you must click Save on the Result Release Rule administration page in order to finalize the changes you make on this page.

If your modifications are complete, click Save to record all changes. Otherwise, complete the remaining sections, and then click Save.

Setting Result Release Rule Actions

Below is a description of each available action and the steps to follow to add or edit the action's settings.

• Release Results to Report Recipients: Adds the ability to release results to report recipients.
1. Select the Release results to result report recipients checkbox to release results to report recipients.
2. Click the X button next to the action if you wish to remove it from the list.
• Release Results to Patient: Adds the ability to release results to a specified patient.
1. Select the Release results to patients using the patient portal checkbox to release results to a specified patient through the patient portal.
2. Click the X button next to the action if you wish to remove it from the list.

If your modifications are complete, click Save to record all changes. Otherwise, complete the remaining sections, and then click Save.
